- Wai YClose to the lake. The owner picked us up at the train station and was super friendly. Walking to the lake takes about 35 mins or you can catch a sight seeing bus. The bus stop is about a 7 min walk from the property.
- Kalos KMy cousin and I visited this hostel in June of 2010, literally the day before the start of the official Fuji climbing season. I can not stress how wonderful our time was there. The lodgings are traditional Japanese style, with minimal modern amenities like climate control or big beds, but don't let that dissuade you! Despite my cousin and I arriving at well past 10 PM with no reservation or call, the host leapt from bed (possibly literally, given his state of undress) and rushed down to welcome us in. We were given the greatest attention and care during our night's stay, with the host going so far as to draw us a bath and suggest nearby restaurants that were still open (his cook had left for the night, otherwise we would've had a meal made in house!) The next morning, the host noticed my cousin's sprained ankle was bothering him, and offered to drive us to the train station himself. He refused to accept my offer to pay for the service.
